More on Jaxon: staying a little longer

We got some not so good news today from the neonatologist. Jaxon is doing really well, but he sometimes forgets to breath (I know… sleep apnea already). Apparently that is quite common among “early arrivals.” Their policy is to not release the baby from the NICU until the child hasn’t done that for 7 days straight. He forgot to breath at some point today and so the soonest we will have him home is a week from today.

When lying is good

As a youth, I was taught to never lie and at some point in my life (probably on my mission), I read an account of an individual who’s sole goal in life was to be known as an honest and trustworthy man. He wanted it on his tombstone. And of course he wanted to live his life in a manner that would make that designation true. I accepted that as a valiant goal and promised myself that I would strive to do the same. I promised myself that I would never lie. I’m one that believes that some things can easily be black and white while other issues remain in the “gray” area. I consider(ed?) lying to be very black and white.

Mommy holds Jaxon

Mommy finally got to hold little Jaxon tonight! And here’s another picture. He’s cleaned up and looking much better. I’m still planning on posting some more pictures once I get some decent ones. The camera died after just a few shots in our last visit.
